You will be met on arrival in Lusaka and guided through to your flight into the remote northern sector of Kafue National Park. Your destination is Shumba Camp, in the heart of the Busanga Plains, considered to be the jewel in the Kafue crown.
The Plains are home to hundreds of red lechwe, puku, roan and the diminutive orbit. As well as Lichtenstein's hartebeest, herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and Defassa waterbuck are often seen. The plains game is a big attraction for predators, including wild dog packs, lone cheetah and lion prides.
Today you will fly out of Kafue to the South Luangwa National park by light aircraft where you will be met and driven deep into the bush to Tena Tena Camp.
This exceptional park is renowned for its prolific wildlife and in particular its leopard sightings. Expert guides will enthral you with their encyclopaedic knowledge of Luangwa's flora and fauna. Norman Carr was the original pioneer of walking safaris in South Luangwa and this activity for many is the draw to this pristine wilderness. Nevertheless, exciting day and night game drives are a large part of discovering what this park has to offer.
