Nxai Pan Camp is located in northern Botswana on the western edge of a fossil pan from which the camp takes its name. This environmentally friendly camp faces east over the open grasslands of Nxai Pan once part of the great lake that covered Botswana.

Nxai Pan Camp consists of nine environmentally adapted thatched rooms, one of which is great for families with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The rooms are wide, spacious and modern and have been especially designed to provide a constant comfortable temperature throughout the year. Interiors are white-washed and light wood has been used for furniture which compliments the stark surrounds. Double or twin beds face out through sliding doors onto a wooden deck with most having good views to the waterhole in front of camp. Rooms are linked to the main area by low raised walkways. Built in a crescent shape under thatch, the wide main area is slightly raised on a wooden deck and completely open to the front.

There is a dining room, lounge, bar, viewing deck, fire pit, small plunge pool with sun loungers and curio shop.

Located in the heart of the Okavango Delta, in the midst of thousands of hectares of private wilderness, Little Kwara looks out onto magnificent views of seasonal floodplains.

Little Kwara is a small and intimate tented safari camp of just five guest tents.

It is the ideal location for honeymooners or small groups, set in the midst of a prime game-viewing private concession.

The main area is home to a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area and the small pool, perfect for an afternoon cool down dip.  Little Kwara is manned by Botswana citizens, their openness gives you the perfect opportunity to  learn more about Botswana, her people, their lives, customs and beliefs.

Each tent is positioned amongst trees, shielding you from neighbours, access is via the raised wooden walkway to the rear of each tent ensuring privacy.  The rooms are spacious, and beautifully decorated with Zimbabwean teak furniture.  The en-suite facilities consist of a free standing claw foot bath as well as an outdoor shower for those who prefer alfresco ablutions.

With permanent and seasonal flood waters there is plenty to do with both land and water activities on offer.

Lagoon Camp is located in the northern part of the Kwando River concession and is located beneath towering ebony and marula trees.

This is one of the most beautiful camp locations as the tents are nestled under shady trees on the banks of the Kwando River, overlooking the Mudumu National Park in Namibia.  This heavily forested site is home to a variety of birds and mammals, with elephant and hippo normally visible from camp in the tranquil lagoon waters.

Kwando Lagoon accommodates guests in eight traditionally styled “tents” that are raised on a wooden platform with canvas walls and thatched roofs. With insect proof doors and windows that also allow for a seamless views over the scenic surrounds, the tents are spacious with a lounge and private viewing deck that overlooks the lagoon, bedroom with en-suite bathrooms that include a bath with a view, and indoor and outdoor showers, Persian carpets and a family unit which includes an extra twin room.

Under thatch and open sided the main camp makes full use of the beautiful lagoon setting. There is a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area that spill onto the deck and swimming pool, all of which overlook the lagoon.

Sindabezi Island is an idyllic, exclusive camp on a privately owned isle in the middle of the Zambezi River and is the discerning traveller’s best kept secret!  It is the only luxury bush camp from where Victoria Falls can comfortably be explored with views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park.

Experience the large number of activities in the area during the day and return to a tranquil haven, a thousand light years away from the bustle at night.

Sindabezi is a top eco lodge and has only five open-sided thatched cottages on wooden decks, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting.  Sindabezi has zero grid dependence, so rooms are romantically lit with hurricane lamps, candles and starlight.   Despite its remote island setting, the chalets are luxuriously comfortable with king size beds, white cotton linen, mosquito nets, plush carpets, en-suite bathrooms with vanity table, free-standing bath and shower, and a private deck from which to soak up the birds and wildlife.  The cottages have solar heated showers, and distinctive ‘loos with a view’ set along private wooden walkways.  The main camp is set on the sand, with comfortable seating, reading and dining areas and a raised deck in the trees for catching the afternoon breeze.  At night a trail of hurricane lamps lights your way back to the chalet across the soft sand.

There are views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park where game such as elephant, impala and wildebeest come to quench their thirst on the banks of the river.

Although the chalets are perfectly secluded, the island is also ideal for families or groups who would like to consider a private booking.

Travel Insurance

We would recommend you get your travel insurance soon after booking. Adequate travel insurance is vital for this trip for three reasons:

  1. These bookings are often taken a year in advance and if anything happens to a member of your party during that year which affects your ability to travel, you would then, be able to claim back any cancellation fees.
  2. You are travelling to wilds of Africa and you want to make sure that if anything unforeseen was to happen whilst on your trip that you are protected.
  3. It is a condition of travelling with Weekend a la Carte that you have a policy in place.

We recommend TAGCONNECT for insurance as they are travel specialists.
