Kanana is a hidden jewel set on the Xudum River in the south west Okavango Delta.

Protected by a mix of jackalberry, acacia and sausage trees, Kanana is surrounded by a necklace of islands dotted with palm, fig, ebony and knobthorns and home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals.

The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta.

Guests are accommodated in eight spacious, twin-bedded tents, set on raised teak decks which offer breathtaking views across the waterways.  All tents offer en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, shower and flush toilet. The tents are well spaced to afford privacy, whilst still being within comfortable distance from the central dining and lounge area.

Dependent on the height of annual floods, the level of water transforms this camp into a true water experience. In the early months of the year you may actually enjoy the visible spectacle of the water rising around the camp.

A land and permanent water camp, Kanana offers superb birding as it hosts a seasonal heronry that teems with activity from July to December. Other activities include game drives, night drives, exploration of the Delta by motorboat, glass-bottomed mokoros with a unique underwater view, guided nature walks and fishing (excluding January and February).

Shinde is an intimate camp at the edge of Shinde Lagoon nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta.  The area teems with animal and bird life.

The classic safari guests tents are now larger after a relatively recent refurbishment, incorporating a spacious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and luxurious fittings.  The larger bedroom with new linen and furniture in tasteful colours provide the perfect retreat. Wide sliding doors leading onto the extended front decks afford breath-taking views over the open floodplains or the mysterious waterways of the Delta.

The main lodge’s unique ‘tree house’ comprises a multi-tiered and canvas covered raised dining and lounge area.  Its setting, amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees, complements the atmosphere of this truly original safari camp.

Every possible comfort has been catered for – from mosquito nets, electric ceiling fans, generated electricity and a private viewing deck through to a decanter of sherry!

Accommodation is generally twin share on comfortable three-quarter size beds, however double accommodation is available on request, but subject to availability.

Selinda Explorers Camp is located in the 320,000 hectare Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana and is built on the banks of the Selinda Spillway, about one hour west of its sister camp, Selinda.

This classic camp, consisting of four custom-designed tents, transports us back to authentic safaris, but with a modern twist and hospitality.  The camp’s focal point is the Bedouin-style main area consisting of a lounge and separate dining room.

Subtly placed under the shade of the riverine forest, the camp is designed in the style of the early explorers both in philosophy and practice.  Whiling away afternoons under the canopy of African ebony and mangosteen trees, interspersed with walks and canoeing, make this a respite from the ‘daily grind’ of a traditional safari.

This authentic tented camp draws on traditions of the classic East African safari with beautifully detailed campaign style furniture made from recycled hard woods, and soft furnishings from Zanzibar and the East.

The custom-designed semi-permanent tents consist of two rooms plus veranda, as well as a private open air ‘bustani bathroom’ with hot water bucket showers and flush loo.  All tents are at ground level, including the main lounge and dining area. This is an unassuming camp, light on its footprint but heavy on its experiential luxury.

The atmosphere of the camp is one of bush elegance with relaxed bohemian style, complemented by attentive staff, private professional service and fabulous food.
