Crocodile River Camp

In South Luangwa National Park Crocodile River camp and Chikoko Tree camp form the Chikoko Trails.  These two small bushcamps are in an area where there are no other vehicles or people. 

Walk from camp to camp in the remote Eastern Zambia following the animal footpaths.

Discover the inner workings of the African bush as the expert guides share their experience and wilderness knowledge.

The Crocodile River Camp chalets are a delightful combination of natural building materials and imaginative architecture.

The end result is a simple, comfortable and personal experience for guests.

At Crocodile River Camp the staff are trained to attend to a guest’s every need. This ensures that everything from delicious meals and snacks to the organisation of dinners under the stars is taken care of.

Crocodile River Camp offers three twin en-suite chalets that all rest beneath a grove of spectacular Muchenja (Ebony) trees.

Safari Experience

Crocodile River camp is predominately a walking safaris only camp, however occasional night drives are possible.

Our game viewing vehicle is also used to access different walking areas further afield from the camp.

Wildlife & Birdlife

There is outstanding diversity of wildlife that is not found further south including  sable, roan, eland.

Other common sightings include: elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, puku, zebra, giraffe, hippo,crocodile, impala, warthog.

Night drives bring out species such as hyena, serval, genet, civet, cameleon,  bushbabies, owls including the Scops owl, giant eagle owl, Pels fishing owl.
