Luangwa River Camp

Luangwa River Camp is a stylish safari lodge situated in a game management area directly across from the Mfuwe section of South Luangwa National Park.

The camp is set under shady trees along the Luangwa River bank, slightly back from the river itself. Although Luangwa River Camp is not in the national park it can be accessed directly from the lodge via a quick boat or vehicle trip across the river.

The camp has 5 spacious thatch and brick chalets, sleeping a maximum of 10 guests. Each chalet is built on a wooden deck with large French doors opening out from the bedroom and bathroom onto the private deck. The en-suite bathrooms have twin sinks, a shower and a huge indulgent sunken bath. Each chalet has a wooden boardwalk that leads out to a pergola on the river bank offering great views across the Luangwa River and onto the national park.

The communal areas (bar, dining and reading areas) are very open plan with a two-level sunken infinity pool looking across the large lawn area that leads to the river bank.
